Akhmeta Hospital
Currently the Hospital is functioning well and has adequate
medical supplies in terms of antibiotics and analgesics.
The opiate analgesics are supervised strictly by our Doctor
with a nurse keeping a daily ledger and accessing the analgesics
via the doctor who stores them in a safe. Evidently there
are heavy penalties in Georgia for smuggling or selling or
using narcotics.
The Hospital consists of an office, 3-4 wards, a staff room,
store room and operating theatre with preparation room.
Current requirements by way of expansion include the renovation
of four new rooms.
- Room for Ultrasound examinations
- Room for post op wound checks/ outpatient follow up
- Room for gastroscopy
- Extra staff room/ living area
Estimated costs of renovation for 4 rooms = 800 lari
